Keep a diary, and someday it’ll keep you
- Mae West
The spring semester 2009, I am an exchange student in Århus, Denmark. Usually, I am studying history and transcultural communication in Vienna, Austria. I believe this half year is one of my most impressive experiences I can gain in my university life. From 1st February to 30th June I will document my stay here, making it more interesting by reflecting the random sightseeing tours I plan only a couple of days in prior.
Since this blog also evolved from a curriculum (eTutoring and Knowledge Experts) back home and being part of an e-project, I bear several aims in mind. Firstly, I learn content management through this blog; secondly, I improve my organization skills regarding project- and group management; and eventually, I have a representative travel diary in electronical form, that hopefully will last a long time and is also source of knowledge respectively experience for others. Above all, the goal is to generate and create knowledge, since these are the basic ingredients in my curriculum.
With this background, I try my best to update my weekly trips and most importantly to organize them to have something to write about. The word about my “talent” is wide spread among my fellow exchange students; several of them joined my cause and follow me. Certainly this underlines the group management skills and make me more experienced. Who knows, maybe I will use this in my future profession
The other thing I want to mention is, that I like to write, but I am unsure how to write this blog in the best way. This electronic travel diary is part of a writing process and not until the end I will be able to satisfy my vision of a perfect post. I will try out several styles, using different texttypes and sorts. I want to create a blog worth reading and even subscribing. Let´s see where it leads me to.
