Why am I writing down all these unfamiliar names? Well, maybe one or the other of these newcomers will be big stars, so I can state, I have seen him/her years ago,… or maybe not. But of course we are now able to reconstruct the night´s program by researching in the web. For example, the Flute sonata from J.S.Bach, performed with an oboe and an accordion instead of a cembalo was remarkable! Here is an audio sample with the original instruments:
Since I was brought up with classical music in Vienna, the capitol city of classics, I can say that two to three performances where outstanding. I just don´t know what to say about the others. Since Denmark turns out to be extraordinarily fond of modern and contemporary art, it is no big surprise that 55% of the plays were of this type. I am a layperson, alas, all I can say is that oftentimes I was overwhelmed by cacophony. I found myself in surreal fantasy worlds while listening to the music. On the other side it was an interesting experience to see, how else instruments can be used – malfunctioned saxophone? Blowing, sucking, whistling, with tone, without tone, clicking, pressing … this was artistic!
Just check out the homepage of the Music house for more interesting free performances, it is worth going and spending an evening or more there! Music house
